1968: The Library

This exhibition features material from the National Library of Australia's Pictures Collection about the Library's lakeside building in Canberra. The story of the building forms part of the Library's onsite exhibition '1968: Changing Times' (1 March–12 August 2018), which also looks at important national and international events from the year 1968. In this online exhibition we highlight collection material related to the design, construction and opening of the building, which welcomed its first visitors in August 1968.
